Prof. Dr. Tran Van Chu – President of Vietnam National University of Forestry introduced briefly the field of activities of VNUF

At the ceremony, there were Mr. Duong Van Thai - Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and leaders of some departments, leaders of Luc Ngan district People's Committee. Mr. Duong Van Thai shared the history of socio-economic development of Bac Giang province. He emphasized that the agriculture sector plays an important role in the development of the province.

Bac Giang province expected that the Vietnam National University of Forestry to cooperate in the research and technology transfer on forest seed with high productivity and economic efficiency, silvicultural techniques, reforestation and enrichment of forests. In addition, the two sides will cooperate in research and implementation of  technical measures for large-scale intensive forest plantation, high quality wood; forest fire prevention, preservation and processing of agricultural products.

On behalf of VNUF, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Chu – President of VNUF hoped that the two sides will effecitively cooperate in scientific research and technology transfer, especially in training staff in the field of agriculture and forestry. In addition, the President also proposed some fields for cooperation such as: develop a model of medicinal plants based on GACP - WHO standards; transfer of technological process to breed some industrial tree species, medicinal plants by tissue culture technology, exploitation and development of native species in Bac Giang province.

At the ceremony, Bac Giang People's Committee and Vietnam National University of Forestry signed the Memorandum of Understanding. The signature ceremony was organized successfully with peaceful atmosphere between the representatives of the two sides.
